Before understanding the production capacity of a ball mill, first have a brief understanding of what a ball mill is and its general classification.
As a universal grinding equipment, ball mills are widely used in the production industries of cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizers, black and non-ferrous metal beneficiation, and glass ceramics. They perform dry or wet grinding on various ores and other grindable materials. According to different mining methods, there are two types of ball mills: grid type ball mills and overflow type ball mills.
Generally speaking, there are four direct ways to increase the output of ball mills:
1. Install a fine crusher in front of the mill;
2. Improve the grinding system and increase grinding efficiency;
3. Choose efficient and wear-resistant grinding media;
4. Install an efficient powder selection machine.
Any of the above four methods can significantly increase the output of the ball mill. Of course, if the factory conditions permit, the combination of the above four methods will result in a more ideal grinding effect and higher grinding efficiency for the ball mill.
Fine crushing before grinding is a prerequisite. A fine crusher is installed before grinding to crush large pieces of material, greatly reducing the particle size of the incoming material and thus reducing the load of the grinding system; The selection of powder after grinding is to ensure the improvement of powder selection efficiency, and the most direct benefit is to maximize the timely selection of finished fine powder, reduce the return rate of cement products, and lower the load of the ball mill;
The transformation inside the mill is fundamental. It is most important to choose the highest quality and batch of wear-resistant steel balls and steel sections while improving the grinding system. Wear resistant steel ball segments can be divided into three types based on their material: high, medium, and low chromium. Each type exhibits different usage effects and performance depending on its chemical composition and physical properties. Medium and low chromium steel ball sections are low-end products in grinding bodies, and the manufacturing process and equipment are relatively simple. The process for high chromium balls or ultra-high chromium balls is more strict and complex.
